May 8, 2018 from 5:00-8:00pm – Tech Coach at the Library. Meet the tech coach if you have questions about electronic devices, smartphones, computers, software, social media, etc. Rob from the Brant Skills Centre can advise you on how to shop for a new device, how to troubleshoot technical problems, and will help you fix your bugs and other issues. The Tech Coach visits the Burford, St. George and Paris Branches each month on regular dates. You must make an appointment to use this service. To book an appointment with the Tech Coach, please call 519.442.2433. You must have a County of Brant Public Library card to use this service. May 13, 2018 at 10:30am and 12:30pm – Eliza Bell’s Mother’s Day Brunch. A delicious homemade buffet brunch awaits at the Homestead Cafe, featuring fresh salads, traditional brunch fare including our signature pancakes, and a array of scrumptious desserts. Two seatings are available, 10:30am and 12:30pm. Reservations are required. $35.00 per person (children 8 and under $15, all prices include taxes/gratuity). You’ll also enjoy a tour of Eliza Bell’s 1870s home with the Grade 12 Canadian History students from Brantford Collegiate Institute. Admission by donation. May 17, 2018 at 8:00pm – Classic Albums Live presents Led Zeppelin 1. Classic Albums Live has put together the greatest Led Zeppelin band in the world. They finish their 2017 – 2018 series with one of the greatest albums ever made: Led Zeppelin 1 with Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused and Communication Breakdown. Note for Note, Cut for Cut. Don’t miss it! Tickets are $40. Location: Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.
May 19, 2018 from 8:00am-12:00pm – Brantford Garden Club Plant Sale. The Brantford Garden Club Annual perennial plant sale will feature many fine and interesting potted perennials, vegetables, herbs, water-wise and landscape plants. Open to the public, admission is free! Rain or shine. Call 519-752-2484 for information. Location: Lions Park Auditorium.
May 20, 2018 at 2:00pm – Brantford Open Stage. The Brantford Open Stage happens every 2nd Sunday afternoon at the Best Western Brantford Hotel & Conference Centre. Host Dave Jensen welcomes folk as well as other styles of music. Performers, both accomplished and developing, are invited to present a 2-song (10-minute) set. Our sound system is professional quality and professionally operated. Audience admission is only $4 (performers are free). May 25, 2018 from 11:00am-4:00pm – Brantford Family Arts Day. Visit Glenhyrst Art Gallery for a FREE family friendly day full of booths including looming, clay, acting, painting, drawing, bubble-making, chess-playing, flower planting, and so much more! The Potter’s Guild will also have their 2nd annual pottery sale, and performers will be playing on the stage. Refreshments & treats available. Rain or shine!
