It’s April and that means we are right smack-dab in the middle of the Real Estate Spring Market. But what does that mean if you’re a Buyer or a Seller?
Things have been a little different over the last couple of months (to say the least!) with everything going on in the world. But there are still people who need to sell their home, and there are others that still need to buy a home! Real estate sales haven’t completely stopped despite the COVID-19 crisis and although our methods of conducting business have certainly been altered, we are still here for you if you need us. Typically, the busiest time of year for buying and selling a home in our area tends to be from about March to late May. This is our Spring Market and it’s when people are coming out of their winter hibernation, ready to make a move!
Generally speaking, people who buy or sell a home in the Spring Market tend to close on their new properties a couple months later in the summer, which makes it a great time for moving. If you’re a home buyer, it’s important to keep your eyes peeled for when that perfect property hits the market – it may not be for sale very long at this time of year and we don’t want you to miss it!

The fall is another very popular time of year to buy and sell a home. Just as with the Springtime, this seems to be when people are looking to get their real estate deals done and completed before the winter comes.
If you know you’re going to be selling your home during the spring or fall, we recommend getting ready for the Spring and Fall markets a couple months in advance. That gives us time to prepare your marketing and it means your listing will be ready right out of the gate when things start to pick up! When you’re one of the first listings to go up during these busy times of the year, you get the most exposure and interest from all the hungry buyers!
Summer and Winter
Although these tend to be *slightly* slower times of the year for the real estate market, there’s still great opportunities to be had. In summer, houses look amazing with their landscaping done up and the sunshine beaming in through the windows. In winter, people feel cozy and really get a sense of “home” when they view potential purchases. Buyers may not have to feel as rushed to put an offer on a home and can take their time choosing what they really want during these times of year.
