Brantford: the Location Advantage

Nestled perfectly between London, Hamilton and Kitchener-Waterloo, Brantford is a medium-sized city that is perfectly located for commuters.  With the 403 corridor running right through the city, it’s easy to hop on the highway to your destination. As housing prices increase in the Greater Toronto Area, people are looking to move further and further out of the city centre in hopes to find lower home and rent prices.  Brantford delivers!

We’re about 40km from Hamilton where you can connect to the QEW on your way to Toronto or Niagara.  And Brantford is about 40km to Woodstock where you’ll pick up the 401 highway if you’re heading westbound.   North of the city you’ll find Highway 24 runs right into K-W, and south you’ll find yourself in the shores of Norfolk County. Brantford really is in the centre of it all!

We are also a stop on the Go Bus line, and our train station welcomes Via Rail passengers as well.  So there’s many ways to find our beautiful “Telephone City”!

Real Estate in Brantford

As more and more buyers are moving out of the urban city centres and further into smaller communities like Brantford, we’ve seen an increase in new-construction homes in our area.  The area of West Brant is especially booming with several home builders creating new neighbourhoods of townhouses, condominiums and detached homes stretching the city limits further west. This is helping to keep up with buyers demand, however the more inventory we have to sell, the better the pricing will be for those looking to make a purchase.

As of February 2024, the price of a detached single family home in Brantford was averaging in the mid-600’s, and a townhome in Brantford averaged in the high-500’s, low 600’s.  This is down significantly from where prices were during the pandemic (when homes were selling for hundreds of thousands over ask).  When turned around for investing, landlords can expect anywhere from $1800 to $3000 per month depending on what their property offers and the location it’s in.  You can see from this chart how that money really adds up for real estate investors in Brantford!
